Uninformed Review: 50 Shades of Grey

I love Movies, Video Games and Books, and I love to give my opinion on them, but I don’t like taking the time or effort to actually watch, play, read or listen to said piece of work or even research anything about it before formulating my opinion of it–

I mean, who really has the time for that?

–when I can learn everything I need to know from posters, trailers and overheard conversations I happen to come across through the course of everyday life.

50 Shades of Grey
What is it?

Apparently it started as Twilight Fan-Fiction–

Which I assume are stories written by fans of the gloomy hours of the morning.

–and evolved like Pokemon into a full-fledged Novel.

The book gained popularity, attracted controversy and reached it’s natural next progressive step of being adapted as a Feature Film, with the intention of also adapting the sequels that had popped up faster than anyone could track.

Seriously, how many sequels are there now anyway?
And no, I’m not going to look it up, I’m far too busy for that. I’ll just make something up.

So, with a multi-media franchise of about six stories springing up overnight, you are undoubtedly wondering…

What’s it about?

As far as I am willing to figure, 50 Shades of Grey is a Romantic Comedy in which a young woman meets a wealthy man who’s wardrobe solely consists of grey suits…
Even his name is Grey…
The hook of the story is that Grey has a secret that the woman discovers:

Grey is a colorblind artist with a hidden room in his home where he paints with only the color Red.

What a monster!

I don’t know where the story goes from there or how it expands over the course of eight novels, but you could probably guess that it ends with the woman loving and accepting him for who he is and Grey learning to be comfortable with his hidden life being out in the open.

Now I bet you’re all wondering… what is–

My Recommendation

It seems to me that 50 Shades of Grey, although cliche and formulaic, is a good film to watch for anyone who enjoys Romantic Comedies.

Go see it with your girlfriend, boyfriend, mother or legal guardian of choice.

Trust me, my uninformed opinion is as good as the real thing.
